The efficiency of the constant temperature and humidity machine refrigeration system can be improved in three ways

Constant temperature and humidity machines are divided into direct expansion, air-cooled, water-cooled, water-cooled, self-cooled and fresh air-cooled units. There are many reasons for the low efficiency of the refrigeration system. One of them is to set constant temperature and humidity. In our daily operation and maintenance, in order to improve the efficiency of the constant temperature and humidity machine refrigeration system, we need to perform the following three methods:

1. If there is no short-circuit airflow in the rack, the temperature of the constant temperature and humidity gas leaving the machine will be the same as the temperature of the incoming air required by the IT equipment, which is 18~21℃. However, in practice, the temperature of the constant temperature and humidity air leaving the machine is usually lower than the temperature at the IT inlet. If this problem is resolved, the CRAC outlet temperature setpoint can be increased.

2. The temperature setting value of the constant temperature and humidity machine is determined by the air distribution system, and the humidity can be adjusted arbitrarily. If the humidity value is higher than the required value, it may cause condensation on the constant temperature and humidity machine and reduce the air humidity. Humidification requires moisture, which consumes thousands of gallons of water each year in a typical data center.

3. For data centers with multiple constant temperature and humidity machines, other problems may occur. A fairly common problem is that two constant temperature and humidity devices can neutralize each other's humidity. The above situation may occur under the following conditions:

The return air temperature of the two constant temperature and humidity machines is different, or the calibration of the humidity sensor of the two devices is different, or the humidity values set by the two constant temperature and humidity machines are different. One constant temperature and humidity appliance will reduce the humidity in the air, while the other will increase the humidity in the air. This type of work is very wasteful, and it is not easy for data center operators to figure it out.
